Do I have to stop working while I try to get SSD/SSI Benefits?

The answer is Maybe not but one rule that Social Security has is that you cannot get Social Security Disability benefits if you are working and according to social security disability grossing nine hundred and eighty dollars per month is working. It doesn’t matter if you make a hundred dollars per hour and only work ten hours a month if you do and your gross pay is over nine eighty a month you are ineligible. So if you have been reduced by your medical condition to working to such a limited extent that your grossing under nine hundred and eighty dollars per month you may still be able to continue working while you are applying for Social Security Disability Benefits.
