The basic requirement for qualifying for social security disability benefits is proving that your condition will keep you from working for at least one year. You prove this by providing a detailed statement from your physician and a copy of the medical tests. However, you may be surprised to learn that the SSA often requires medical tests that your doctor did not feel necessary. You could have your claim denied if you do not provide the medical test results that the SSA wants to review before they will approve your claim for disability benefits.
The challenge is that most people, and many doctors, are unaware of which tests the SSA wants for each condition. A doctor may be saving you money by not running a test he or she feels is unnecessary, but it might be the test that is a requirement of the SSA. Disability attorneys with claim filing experience know which test results Social Security will be looking for when reviewing your claim. They can review your medical records and let you know what you are missing before you submit your SSI or SSDI application. If you need a test that you cannot afford, your social security disability attorney will likely know of medical facilities that offer free or low cost medical treatment and testing.
North Bend, Oregon Disability Benefits
North Bend was originally called Yarrow, possibly after the flowering plant that grows in the region. The name North Bend likely came from the fact that the city is located at the north bend of the Coos Bay Channel. The first major industry of the region was timber and wealthy barons like Asa M. Simpson and his son Louis came to the area to take advantage of the vast and abundant forests. They erected numerous sawmills and logging operations which drew new residents eager for the steady work. Another important early leader in North Bend was Vern Gorst. He started up an air, water, and land service in the area. This business would later become United Airlines, one of the leading commercial airlines today. The location on the water provided many opportunities for fishermen and others who harvested fish, clams and Dungeness crabs which were sold to local businesses and shipped to other markets.
North Bend continued to grow throughout the 20th century. One of the major works was the building of the McCullough Memorial Bridge which was built as a FEMA project and used the combined talents and efforts of the Oregon State Highway Commission, Northwest Roads Company, and the Virginia Bridge and Iron Company. It was created and designed by Conde Balcom McCullough who built many bridges in Oregon. This project provided many jobs for the people of North Bend and surrounding communities. The region is also the home for the Coquille Native American Tribe who own a great deal of land and have their Tribal Government based in North Bend. They run several businesses including a casino, Telecommunications Company, and a cranberry processing and packaging plant. The region is filled with scenic beauty and natural wonder, which draw thousands of visitors to the area and supports a vital tourism industry. There are many employment opportunities in area but unfortunately some residents are disabled and cannot work.
