Every year thousands of Oregon workers must stop working full time because of a disability and need to file a SSDI application with the Social Security Administration to begin receiving disability benefits. The application and claim filing process can be complicated and many people are disappointed when their SSDI application for benefits is denied. They included their doctor’s statement and records but may have left out certain medical documents to support their application. Medical records are among the most important documents when submitting a claim to the SSA and it’s critical to include the complete records of your treatment and care.

The main objective is to provide the SSA with collaborative records that support the claim for disability benefits. These records can be different for each person, even those with the same medical condition. Some applicants, particularly younger applicants, will have to provide more medical records and documents. These records and documents can include medical tests and office visits that the SSA wants to see before approving the claim for disability benefits. Many people are finding that a disability social security attorney can help them assemble all the needed supportive documentation to prove their claim of disability. Skilled disability attorneys know what records and documents the SSA requires. They can help review your paperwork and make sure it is complete the first time you submit your application for SSI/SSD disability benefits.
